Sleep if Only to Dream
A thought of silence
A memory of light
Wisps of smoke
surrounding the grey
Silver and shining
A watchful stance
that piercing gaze
if only... if only I could
A touch of sorrow
a hint of malice
the touch of unknown glee
what a caress could awaken
Dark and hungering
a lingering burn
slithering through
mental ribbons of awareness
Wound too tightly
ready to spring forth
breaking the habit
embracing the night
His lips
his eyes
his hands
his teeth
my breath sighing upon the wind
A body beneath the waves
waves of anguish, exstacy
crushing the heart within
Pulsing with life
In one darkened whisper
awaking from the dream
drenched in sweat
and wanting for sleep
